Comments: I served aboard the Askari from 1952 to 1955. All the guys aboard ship called me "Mac". I was a a gunner's mate under Chief Neuman. I left the Navy, and went back into radio broadcasting in 1956. I am chief engineer for Radio station KIJN AM&FM in Farwell, Texas. Need to retire at 73, but have no plans to do so.
