I am so saddened to hear of the death of my old friend and shipmate Ken Kirkland BT3.
I'll never forget the night that we were caught above decks in a typhoon crossing the South China Sea.We were having a smoke up were we had movie nights when the weather went bad really fast. The hatches were battened down and we were unable to get below decks. I don't know how the hell we made it,but we did.
Ken was a great friend and shipmate,my condolences go out to his family ,and friends.I'm sorry that it took me so long, but my recent bouts with bad health have brought a lot of old memories to come forward.
It might sound crazy, but we all found ways to have lot's of fun during some pretty awful times. After all, we were still kids, and most of us were fresh out of high school,or college.

Karl Lindbloom EM2
