Comments: I served on the Askari from 1967 to 1968, I believe I arrived in Nov. 67 right before Thanksgivings. I was a Seaman, messed cooked for a month or so, then rebuilt 671 heads on the Tank Deck for the rest of my tour. Made to trip to Singapore for repairs, then back to Nam. Don't remember too many names of shipmates, folks were always coming and going it seemed. I was from Mississippi at that time.
