USS Askari ARL-30 Guestbook

Comments:
I served on the Askari from 1967 to 1968, I believe I arrived in Nov. 67 right before Thanksgivings. I was a Seaman, messed cooked for a month or so, then rebuilt 671 heads on the Tank Deck for the rest of my tour.
Made to trip to Singapore for repairs, then back to Nam. Don't remember too many names of shipmates, folks were always coming and going it seemed. I was from Mississippi at that time.

Greetings fellow shipmates. I was CSSN Culwell while aboard from around March 1971 to August 1971 when the ship was turned over to the Indonesian Navy. After a break in service, I retired from the Navy as an AZ1 in 2001.

I served on the Askari August 1969 - August 1970. Nothing like serving on a "Green" ship in the U.S. Navy.
